ISLAMABAD: Education authorities in Pakistan have officially announced the revised school timings for Ramadan 2025 to accommodate students and staff observing fasts while ensuring the continuity of academic activities. The new schedule applies to educational institutions across Punjab and Sindh, with adjustments tailored to different school levels and shift systems.
Updated School Timings for Ramadan 2025
Punjab School Timings
- Regular schools will function from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM on weekdays.
- On Fridays, school hours will be 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
- Double-shift schools will operate as follows:
- Morning shift: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Afternoon shift: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- On Fridays, the afternoon shift will run from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Sindh School Timings
The school schedule in Sindh differs based on educational levels and shift systems:
- Primary schools (single shift): 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM
- Double-shift primary schools:
- Morning shift: 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Afternoon shift: 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM
- Secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools will follow the same schedule as above.
Education authorities have instructed school administrations to implement these revised timings at the start of Ramadan. Parents and students are advised to check with their respective school administrations or visit the provincial education department websites for detailed information.

Expected Date of Ramadan 2025 in Pakistan
According to Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the new moon for Ramadan 2025 is expected to occur on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 PM (PST). However, due to its low altitude and distance, spotting the crescent on this date may be difficult.
Based on astronomical calculations, Ramadan in Pakistan is likely to begin on March 2, 2025. The final confirmation, however, will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will convene on February 28, 2025, in Peshawar for the official moon sighting.
