State Bank of Pakistan Revises Banking Hours for Ramadan 2025

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced new banking hours for the holy month of Ramadan to facilitate customers and employees during fasting hours.

Revised Banking Hours for Ramadan

According to the official statement issued by the SBP, banks will operate with adjusted hours throughout Ramadan.

  • Monday to Thursday: Banking hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM without any break.
  • Friday: Banks will function from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM without any interruption.

For public dealings, the following hours will apply:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (without breaks).
  • Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (without breaks).

Implementation Across All Banks

The SBP spokesperson confirmed that all commercial banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks will implement these revised working hours during Ramadan 2025.

Other Sectors Adapting to Ramadan Timings

Apart from the banking sector, other institutions have also modified their schedules to align with Ramadan routines.

  • Pakistan Railways: Recently revised its reservation office timings, ensuring convenience for passengers during the holy month.
  • Government Offices: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also adjusted office hours for employees, setting a new schedule for five-day and six-day working offices.

The revised banking hours aim to accommodate the needs of customers while maintaining efficiency in financial transactions during Ramadan.
